General Questions
Do you require production insurance?
We typically require a Certificate of General Liability Insurance and based on the production details may require Workers Compensation Liability Insurance. If you do not currently have these policies we can refer you to a local insurance broker that issues affordable short term policies. Alternatively, you may be able to booking via the Peerspace platform which offers limited coverage.

Do you require a security deposit?
Based on the production details, a refundable security deposit may be required. For shoots with minimal setup and crew it is typically not needed.

Is there parking on-site?
Please park using street parking (Lucia Avenue or Torrance Blvd.) unless otherwise agreed in advance as parking on-site is by permit only. Loading and unloading equipment is permitted but be respectful to not block other tenants and traffic.

Please be mindful of any parking restrictions. Street sweeping, on Lucia Avenue, Street Sweeping is on alternate days.

Can furniture be moved?
Yes, you may move furniture but please return to its original location in clean condition.

Do you offer student discounts?
We are supportive of student projects and can offer discounts on a case by case basis with proper documentation from the school.

Production Questions
Is Cat Eye Studios completely soundproof?
No. We are not a soundstage, but have found that when using a lavalier microphone that sound is of an acceptable quality for social media/web based videos.

What equipment is provided?
You may use our backdrop stand and its different paper and fabric backdrop options (please confirm stock), light stands, tripods, televisions and speakers.

We offer lighting equipment at additional cost.

Can light be blocked out?
Yes. There is limited natural light to the studio, windows have curtains to help block out the light.

What is the electrical load of the facility?
The circuit in the studio has a maximum 1800watt load. Please be very mindful of power consumption. If you require to use high energy consuming lights, we recommend renting a generator.

Will I be the only one using the studio?
Yes, when renting Cat Eye Studios you will have the entire space uninterrupted.

How accessible is the studio to load equipment?
The studio is all accessible on ground level and has large garage doors to load in/out equipment easily.

Can you help me shoot?
Our production arm, Cat Eye Productions offers end to end production services and can help you shoot your project. For more details contact: general@cateyeprods.com

Studio Rules
- Standard hours: 8am – 8pm (can be flexible with advanced notice)
- Strictly NO smoking, drugs, alcohol, pets, or excessively loud music
- Use of: glitter, powder, paint, smoke, candles, animals require prior permission
- Return the property in clean condition with any trash placed in the on-site dumpster
- Power - be mindful of power load (circuit in production room has max 1800watt load)
- Rental period - is inclusive of setup/ teardown time. Extensions will be billed accordingly.
- Bicycles in the studio are not to be used.
- Parking on the street unless otherwise agreed (the lot is by permit only). There is street parking readily available but be mindful of the parking signs.
- Based on the shoot details, additional insurance and/or a refundable security deposit may be required.
